QuickPeek vs Loom
Loom records you talking over your own screen and hosts it as a link you send. QuickPeek drives the browser itself from a URL and hands back a narrated MP4. Both produce a video, but only one of them needs you present.
What actually differs
Every demo tool in this category hands you a recorder. You open your own product, click through it yourself, and the tool saves what you did. QuickPeek does not watch you work. You give it a URL and it drives the browser itself.
Loom is the tool most people already have open when they need a video of their product, so it is worth being exact about what it is. Loom is async video messaging. You hit record, you talk, and it publishes a hosted page with a transcript, comments and view tracking. On the paid plans its AI writes the title, the summary and the chapters, and strips your filler words. It is very good at that, and QuickPeek does none of it.
QuickPeek is pointed at a URL instead. Run "qp yourapp.com" and it opens a real browser with Playwright, works out what on the page is interactive, walks the flow, narrates it in any of 60+ languages, and burns the captions into the frames. Nobody hits record, nobody speaks, and nobody has to be at the keyboard when it runs.
The consequence is what actually matters. A Loom is a performance you gave on a particular afternoon, so a changed button means giving it again, and a demo on your landing page quietly goes stale between sprints. A QuickPeek demo is a command plus an editable plan.json file, so you re-run it and it rebuilds against the UI that shipped. That is cheap enough to do on every release, and a CI job or an AI assistant can do it over MCP without a human in the loop.
The honest flip side is your voice. A Loom sounds like a person, because it is one. If the video is a founder explaining something to a customer, or a reply to a bug report, or a standup update for the team, the whole value is that you are in it. Synthesised narration is not a substitute for that and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

When to choose Loom instead
These are real reasons, not throat clearing. If one of them describes you, Loom is the better buy and QuickPeek will waste your afternoon.
You should be in the video
This is the big one. A founder walking a customer through a feature, a reply to a support ticket, a hand-off to a colleague. The point of those is that a person made them, and a Loom is the right tool by a wide margin. QuickPeek has no camera and no microphone, and a synthesised voice reading a script does not do the same job.
The video is a message, not an asset
Loom is built around sending video instead of writing an email: a hosted link, a transcript, threaded comments, emoji reactions, and a record of who watched. It also records meetings and emails the recap. QuickPeek produces one MP4 file and stops. If the video needs a conversation attached to it, or it is going into a team library rather than onto a landing page, that is Loom.
The demos belong to someone who does not open a terminal
QuickPeek is a CLI and an MCP server. If marketing owns the demo library and needs to ship one on a Friday without asking an engineer, a hosted editor in a browser is the honest answer to that and we are not it.
Your product is not a page a browser can open
QuickPeek needs a URL, and localhost counts, but it does need to be a web page. A desktop application, a native mobile app, or a flow sitting behind multi-step SSO with an authenticator app is not that. A recorder does not care what it is pointed at, because a human is doing the driving.
When QuickPeek is the right call
The demo goes stale every sprint
A recorded walkthrough is a performance, so a changed button means performing it again. A QuickPeek demo is a command plus an editable plan.json file, so you re-run it and it rebuilds itself against the UI that shipped. That is cheap enough to do on every release instead of once a quarter.
You want it in a pipeline, or driven by an AI assistant
It is a command line tool with an MCP server, so a CI job can build the demo and a model can build one for you without a human opening a browser. There is nothing to click, so there is nothing that needs a person present.
The thing you actually need is a video file
A landing page hero, a Product Hunt or G2 listing, a YouTube short, a video in a sales email. QuickPeek outputs an MP4 with narration in 60+ languages and captions burned into the frames, which is the artifact all of those want.
You would rather not pay per seat
QuickPeek is $12 or $29 a month for the account. Nobody has to be counted, and adding a second person who wants to make a demo does not change the bill.

Questions
Is QuickPeek a Loom alternative?
For a product demo video, yes, and nobody has to record a take to get one. For talking to camera, sending a video message, or recording a meeting, no. Loom is async video messaging and QuickPeek has no camera, no microphone and no hosted comment thread.
Does QuickPeek record my voice?
No. It narrates from a script you can edit, synthesised in any of 60+ languages, and burns the captions into the frames. If your own voice is the point of the video, use Loom.
Loom caps free screen recordings at five minutes. Does QuickPeek cap length?
Not over the command line or MCP. There is no length cap there, a free video of 20 seconds or under comes out clean, and only a longer free video carries a QuickPeek watermark. On the hosted web recorder at quickpeek.co free videos are capped at 20 seconds and are always watermarked.
What happens to the demo when my UI changes?
Re-run the same command. A QuickPeek demo is a command plus an editable plan.json file rather than a recording of one afternoon, so it rebuilds against whatever shipped. A Loom has to be recorded again.
Is QuickPeek priced per user like Loom?
No. Essentials is $12 a month and Elite is $29 a month for the whole account, so a second person making demos does not change the bill. Loom Business is $18 per user a month and Business + AI is $24 per user a month.
