QuickPeek vs Supademo

Supademo captures you clicking through your own product and turns those clicks into a guided, interactive demo. QuickPeek drives the browser itself from a URL and hands back a narrated video. Pick by which artifact you need, not by the feature count.

What actually differs

Every demo tool in this category hands you a recorder. You open your own product, click through it yourself, and the tool saves what you did. QuickPeek does not watch you work. You give it a URL and it drives the browser itself.

Point it at your app with "qp yourapp.com" and QuickPeek opens a real browser with Playwright, finds what is interactive, walks the flow, narrates it in any of 60+ languages, and burns the captions into the frames. There is no extension to install in your browser and no session to sit through.

What that buys you is a demo that is code. It is a command plus a plan.json file, so it lives in your repository, it can be re-run after a UI change, and it can be produced by a CI job or by an AI assistant over MCP. Captured clicks cannot be re-run, because the clicks were the input.

The honest flip side is the output. Supademo produces a step by step interactive demo a visitor clicks through, shareable as a link, an embed or a PDF. QuickPeek produces one MP4 file. Neither is a superset of the other.

When to choose Supademo instead

These are real reasons, not throat clearing. If one of them describes you, Supademo is the better buy and QuickPeek will waste your afternoon.

You want a guided demo the prospect clicks through

This is the reason to buy Supademo. Hotspots, steps, a visitor moving at their own pace inside an embed on your page, and their free plan includes five of those. QuickPeek cannot make one at any price. If that is the artifact you need, buy Supademo.

The demos belong to someone who does not open a terminal

QuickPeek is a CLI and an MCP server. If marketing owns the demo library and needs to ship one on a Friday without asking an engineer, a hosted editor in a browser is the honest answer to that and we are not it.

Your product is not a page a browser can open

QuickPeek needs a URL, and localhost counts, but it does need to be a web page. A desktop application, a native mobile app, or a flow sitting behind multi-step SSO with an authenticator app is not that. A recorder does not care what it is pointed at, because a human is doing the driving.

You need per viewer analytics or personalised demos

Supademo tracks demo views and can personalise the text a specific viewer sees, which is only meaningful on an interactive demo in the first place. An MP4 is byte for byte identical for everybody who opens it.

When QuickPeek is the right call

The demo goes stale every sprint

A recorded walkthrough is a performance, so a changed button means performing it again. A QuickPeek demo is a command plus an editable plan.json file, so you re-run it and it rebuilds itself against the UI that shipped. That is cheap enough to do on every release instead of once a quarter.

You want it in a pipeline, or driven by an AI assistant

It is a command line tool with an MCP server, so a CI job can build the demo and a model can build one for you without a human opening a browser. There is nothing to click, so there is nothing that needs a person present.

The thing you actually need is a video file

A landing page hero, a Product Hunt or G2 listing, a YouTube short, a video in a sales email. QuickPeek outputs an MP4 with narration in 60+ languages and captions burned into the frames, which is the artifact all of those want.

You would rather not pay per seat

QuickPeek is $12 or $29 a month for the account. Nobody has to be counted, and adding a second person who wants to make a demo does not change the bill.

Questions

Is QuickPeek a Supademo alternative?

For producing a demo video, yes, and without anyone clicking through the product to make it. For a guided interactive demo with hotspots that a prospect drives themselves, no. QuickPeek outputs an MP4 only. If the interactive demo is the point, Supademo is built for it and QuickPeek is not.

Do I need a browser extension for QuickPeek?

No. QuickPeek runs as a command line tool and drives its own browser with Playwright, so there is nothing to install in Chrome and no capture session to sit through. It can also record a Chrome extension popup, if the extension is the product you are demoing.

What happens to the demo when my UI changes?

Re-run the same command. A QuickPeek demo is a command plus an editable plan.json file rather than a saved set of captured clicks, so it rebuilds against whatever shipped and nobody repeats the walkthrough by hand.

Can I try QuickPeek without signing up or paying?

Yes. Run npx @spark-apps/quickpeek against your URL. The command line asks for an email on the first run so the AI planner can be metered, with no card. Over MCP the first five videos need no account at all.

Is QuickPeek priced per creator like Supademo?

No. Essentials is $12 a month and Elite is $29 a month for the whole account, so a second person making demos does not change the bill. Supademo Scale and above are billed per creator or admin seat.
